SIG 516
1 Attachment(s)
Pretty good review in American Rifleman this month
Shot sub 1 MOA with blackhills HP 69gr @ 100yd Also did a pretty good torture test. In mud the consistence of wet cement. Lastly that adjustable gas is pretty cool too. Standard,Normal & you can even turn it off making it a single shot manual cycle. I guess a good thing if all else fails? Retail $1300 Anyway........... http://www.americanrifleman.org/Webc...137-sig516.pdf |

What no love for this puppy? :504:
The more I look at it the more it seems like a pretty nice set up. I was hoping maybe some here had shot one too. |

I think this price sug retail of 1300 is pretty darn good ...especially when compared to the new Ruger at 1995 I imagine after the newness dies down a bit you will find some great deals but even at 1300....Not Bad at all |

Did you toss it into a brackish puddle for rinsing? |
Re: SIG 516
Local dealer was at the SHOT show saying he was gonna order a bunch. No price yet.

If I was in the market for a gas piston AR and if they end up selling for less than the Rugers, I would certainly give them a look. It might well just come down to which accessories you like the most. Maybe the SIG uses the style and brand of components you like or maybe Ruger does. If you buy the SIG and then spend $200-$300 changing out parts, you didn't really save anything. As anybody can tell you, competition is good. The more high quality AR's we have on the market, the lower the price delivered to me will be! If the SIG is produced in quantity for less than the Ruger, it may well drive Ruger to lower their prices. As well as others. Gregg |
Re: SIG 516
The SIG is a decent base from which to start a rifle build.
for a few hundred dollars, you can get a gastube, front sight block, a proper DI bolt carrier, and a bolt with gas rings.... Build up a good reliable Direct Impingement AR-15 rifle, as Eugene Stoner intended. Or you could call up Armalite, and get one complete rifle, new in the box for 900 paper notes. |

Yeah agreed...When I saw the MSRP at 1300 I thought wow we may see that at 1k or less once the stores have stock. Also some of the features like the adjustable gas flow & the quality of some if the add ons not to mention it shot sub 1moa out of the box @ 100yds....well sounds pretty decent at that price range. We will see......... |
Re: SIG 516
Local guy has the Ruger SR-556 for 1399. I still can't find anyone selling the Sig 516 or come up with the real world price.
